I had a client recently — we’ll call him Pete — who had been trying to lose weight by following a popular weight loss diet that is based mainly on counting calories.
Pete had been following his diet carefully with little weight loss, and he didn’t understand why. So, his doctor suggested that he come to see me. We talked, and I learned that Pete had in fact been staying within his daily calorie limits; however, he had figured out how to essentially “cheat” the diet plan.
